The new Biomanufacturing program, a joint effort between the Granite Technical Institute (GTI) of Granite School District and Salt Lake Community College are launching BioInnovate, a student-run, contract research organization (CRO). BioInnovate provides a mechanism to mutually benefit research-based training, biotech and biodevice businesses, and educational activities through the use of shared facilities, equipment, technical resources, and talent. BioInnovate will contract with Utah based companies to perform project work in biotechnology, nutrition and natural products and medical device businesses while teaching students both technical skills and business practices involved in delivering quality, documentable results on time and within budget. GTI is seeking a Manager for BioInnovate to establish and manage the program, build partnerships with universities, the Utah life-science community and the BioInnovations Gateway, the new life science business incubator co-located within the facility. The ideal candidate will have a MS/Ph.D. (preferred), both teaching and corporate experience, and an understanding of manufacturing including R&D, design and quality control, federal regulations, GMP, and documentation.
